Oh thank you Merry. Someone who agrees with me. I feel better already. After contacting Ancestry about a dozen times with 'missing image' reports I gave up and just told them their entire 1920 marriages for the letter D were awful. Unfortunately that is the decade that I most want info on. Thanks again, Jennie

You are not cracking up!!! I searched for births over about 15 years for ''Penney''. I found EXACTLY the same as you.....sometimes Ancestry would give you no pages for a Q, but by fiddling with the name search would usually trace the page....................but sometimes it would be missing from the film like your page 160 (which i agree isn't there!) I have 1837 open at the same time and just do the odd lookup on there when this happens! Have fun....not all the decades are as bad! Merry

Annette, Sorry, sorry, sorry for being a pain but NO that does not work. I've just looked up marriages 1928 Mar Q and page 160 is missing. If you look for Duffy at bottom of page 16, actual image page 159 then go to next page, 17 and it opens actual page 161 ie page 160 does not exist. This is what I mean is happening on most of my Dunderdale searches for the mid 1920s. The usual names that precede mine such as Duncombe, Dundas etc are not there and Dunford which comes later. As you know, you recognise which names are next to yours on the sheets and they just are not there. That's what I meant about I'm nearly cracking up as they seem to have been stolen!!! Sorry if I appear a bore but please will someone else check for me before I go completey mad. Jennie Sorry Jeanette for getting your name wrong - stress!!

Ann I've tried that - even tried just D. I've tried the names that usuallly appear before and after Dunderdale but the pages are missing. The number at the top of the page image jumps two. If you look at one of the examples I mentioned the page is just not there. Thanks for suggestion, Jennie

After spending hours working my way through the 1920s and getting nowhere I was beginning to get a complex. I just think Ancestry doesn't like my name!! Thanks for replies, Jennie

:-((( Didn't think of that. Obviously I haven't had to resort to that tactic.! Anne

Anne, Yes I've tried E and also C but it appears they are in letter sections and it's impossible to page forwards or backwards to another letter. Jennie

there is a thread about finding missing pages on ancestry BMD I will go and give it a nudge Jeanette

Anne Report 22 Jan 2006 16:39

Have you tried putting E in? If you put East for example it wouldn't be many pages to scroll back through to get to Du.. Anne

Since Ancestry full BMD index came online I've been filling in gaps. I am going slightly mad as every time I try Dunderdale marriages in the 1920s there appears to be a missing page and some times there are no Ds at all. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong but will someone else please have a go for me. 1925 Mar Q page missing, Jun/Sep/Dec Qs no letter Ds. 1927 and 1928 are just as bad. I know the transcribing is quite awful but even putting in just D for the surname doesn't work. Thanks, Jennie
