Can someone have a look at this for me please? 1851 census. HO107 piece 1555 folio 257 page 10. Second family - head is Henry Jennings. His wife looks like Hanah - can anyone see any other name? - and I can't make head or tail of her birthplace. HELP !!!!! Thanks, Maz. XX |

Do you mean the childrens names? looks like Hanah, could be Sarah at a push she was born 'South.....'? (somewhere) |

thanks all - yep its the place of birth thats the toughie! Kids I make Henry, William, Elizabeth and Ann -straightforward enough, his parents were Henry and Elizabeth so makes sense! Looking in road map for Southw....... !! Maz. XX |

thanks Dawn and Debbie, yep I think Wallasey is Liverpool, but I'm not convinced that thats what it says! I wonder if it is somewhere that the ennumerator had not heard of, so he 'made up' the spelling? My first thought was South Woodham Ferrers all run into one??!! Just had a thought - better look at 1861!! Maz. XX |

oh I am an idiot, really sorry folks, should have gone to 1861 before!! But guess what it says??!! She was born Surrey, Bermondsey - its nothing like it!!!! Thanks anyway very much for your help. Maz. XX |
