I have this family in 1901: Fanny Fancy abt 1887 Shadwell, London, England Daughter Poole St James Dorset Francis Fancy abt 1866 Shadwell, London, England Wife Poole St James Dorset John Fancy abt 1892 Poole, Dorset, England Son Poole St James Dorset Percy Fancy abt 1899 Poole, Dorset, England Son Poole St James Dorset Rellie Fancy abt 1889 Bethnal Green, London, England Daughter Poole St James Dorset Francis should be Frances and Rellie is Nellie. The missing Head of house is John Fancy - I don't know any more about him yet. The couple were married in 1884: Name: CHEEK, Frances Caroline Record Type: Marriages Quarter: December Year: 1884 District: Mile End Old Town County: London Middlesex Volume: 1c Page: 1006 ......Spouse John Fancy The daughter, Fanny, was reg as Frances Caroline, like her mum, in Q1 1888. There's another dau, Charlotte who was reg in Stepney in Q1 1886: she is a servant elsewhere in 1901. Stepney is the right district for Shadwell as place of birth. Please can anyone find them in 1891???? Sniff.....boo hoo..........I am going round in circles! Merry

Thanks for attempts so far! I suppose both Fancy and Cheek are up for massive transcription error!! I know I could buy some certs to find out about them, but I find it soooo frustrating when people ''vanish'' for decades at a time! Merry

Oh, don't worry Helen, they are not ''my'' names, but the ancestor's of the daughterin-law of the chap who is helping paint our windowframes at the mo!!! (anyone who cames within a three mile radius of our house tends to get asked about their family history....and these people actually WANTED to know.......) The decorator has been here two weeks and we have done his, his wife's and now his dau-in-law's all back to about 1800, except for these Cheeky Fancys!! They are lucky - they have some lovely names in their tree and all in Dorset Villages (except these Cheeky Fancys!). My hubby is v cross because after 20 years searching his grandfather was still never born!! LOL Merry
