I posted off for a certificate from Staffordshire on Monday 30th Jan and it arrived Wednesday 1st Feb. Very pleased! Sorry to read not everyone is having the same kind of turnaround.

I ordered one yesterday afternoon from Pontefract office and it came first post this morning - FANTASTIC service. Sadly I'm still waiting for one ordered from GRO many days ago, AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH. Jo

Hi All I pounced on the postman this morning and NO certificate!!! :~(( I can't go any further without this marriage certificate but there's hoping for tomorrow!!! I wonder if I had ordered straight from Durham Register office it would have come quicker??? I will have to look in to that!! Tammy

our registry office isn't far away from us,and we can obtain the certs we need straight away. the only thing with our lot they all came from different parts of the country, so we have to order like the rest of you helen

I found it much easier to search with the BMD's on Ancestry - now my certs list has grown from 10 to 32! Oh dear Have just had a pay rise which would just about cover them - I wonder if OH would mind ....... Lisa

I've ordered some certficates and they arrived when said the only problem is now I need to commit a bank robbery to obtain anymore a the previous bunch has cost me a lot!!!!

Ordered 2 Certificates on 23rd January. Both should have arrived on Monday. Only one arrived this morning. Joy

Tammy, mine were due 27th and still not here!! had e-mail from them today to say they will refund 1 as they cant find it....even with index refs!! just hope the others arrive.

i think its fully the bmd index, i went to my local library on saturday and it was empty, ther has been no interest generated this time, lots came last program and found the searching to difficult and you never saw them again, i would put this down to the bmds and people already searching panicing there would be a rush for certs and not interest from the program

Hi Jeanette and Irene I have just ordered another one - despatch date 8th of February. I hate waiting as well!!! Oh well not much I can do about it - I just hope they will be the right ones!!! Tammy

Yes I agree mine came about 2 days after the said date. I know how you feel. Lets hope it was worth waiting for and gives you more info on your ancestor. Irene

i think also because now you can search BMD for free I ordered 27th Jan not sent out until 6th Feb I hate waiting Jeanette

I ordered a marriage certificate on 24th of January with a delivery date of 31st January and it's still not here yet!!!! Boohoo :~( I have had a turn around of 3 days before!! I keep jumping up at the door everytime I see the postman, I will be waiting by the door tomorrow!! lol Oh well !!! Tammy
