Thats probably best Merry. My mother seemed to think that my great grandmother was of irish ancestry so you could be right. Thanks again. Nick. |

I should wait until you get the marriage cert to see what it reveals.....wouldn't want to be barking up the wrong tree!! Merry |

Looks like it Nick. The Nora Tansey I found in the earlier census has matching date and place of birth to Nora Taylor. When you get the marriage cert it hopefully will match up further.....Nora's dad should be Michael the ships plater (or whatever it was). I'm wondering if this is Nora's birth reg (below)???? Long shot....Googled and Onney is Irish form of Honor, which I suppose could be shortened to Nora???? or maybe your Nora wasn't registered?? 1869 Q2 Sunderland Vol 10a Page 583 Onney Tansey Merry |

No. you're right merry, i dont. All i know is he was married in 1896 in South Shields to Nora Tansey and he was a painter. Not much to go on until i get the marriage cert i guess. Nick. |

Thanks Merry, not the names i was hoping for tho. I'm trying to trace my great grandfather, William Taylor, who lived at this address in 1907. I've just located his marriage cert on freebmd so i'm getting there slowly. Thanks for your time, much appreciated. Nick. |
