Hi Has anybody else notice that over the last couple of days some people are asking for the same look ups Twice, June x

Yes. They either can't remember who they've asked for a lookup on or they don't believe the info they're given. some people just can't be pleased. Th ones who really bug me are those who put an identical request on 2 boards at the same time and then have 2 lots of people running round like headless chickens. grrrrrrrr

Yes, sometimes on different boards and sometimes on the same board, there was one on hear the other day it was on the trying to find, records, tips, and general board all at the same time. For anyone that does this? I go back and delete any thread that i have replied to. Roy

you really are a grumpy bear Roy not everyone realises we all read all of the boards and some of us dont look at them all. so when they try all of them its in hope differant people will look.........this has been a thread before and I think then it was decided that sometimes it made sense to put on all boards you dont have to answer all of them. sandie

Sandie, I don't think that Roy is being a grumpy bear. It is very frustrating to spend time searching for someone only to realise later that someone else had already found the information because the request was on two boards at the same time. Sam x

AND to read a thread asking for info & you find the info is there on Freebmd or family search, PLEASE, before you ask, do some basic checking first!!!!!. Shirley

Sandy: It IS annoying when peeps put the same post on several boards at a time. It just wastes everyones time especially when there are questions to be asked of the poster to clarify a point. The answer to it might already be on another thread. I don't bother to help if I find this, but it's not because I don't want to, but because it becomes frustrating. Respectfully Kat :)

sandy- its because it doesn't COST anything , people think it doesnt matter if they ask willy nilly. I dont mind answering anyone, and will spend ages fiddling about to get it 'just right' -only to find that someone else has found it on another board, andi have wasted my time. i dont see it as any different to asking two poeople to go to the paper shop for you to buy the same thing, at the same time. You just wouldn't do that , would you? Jess x

Katarzyna, What are you trying to say? Different boards ARE for different types of threads, Read the info at the top of each board to see what each board is for. General board, This board is for general discussion on genealogy as well as every day topics Success Board This board is to allow you to share any success you have had using Genes Reunited. Tips board This board is to help members ask and answer questions about genealogy Chat board This board is for you to communicate with other members Records board If you are visiting a records office and are happy to do a lookup on behalf of other members please post a message Also if you would like a fellow member to look up information please post your requests.
