Feeling a little bit 'down in the dumps' So I thought I would scribble a poem Fed up with looking on '71 For Mark Fenton - Does anyone know him? I've got him before with wife No. 1 and after with wife No.2 But in '71 he doesn't exist Well, I cannot find him - Boo Hoo !!! If anyone know's him - he's about 21 with a couple of children to boot There's Margaret, his wife + the 2 little kids (not his I suppose) - what a hoot ! He should be in Salford + that is in Lancs. a stone mason he is by profession If anyone finds him please give me a shout and ease my frustrated aggression. Dea x

Oh Dea how i've looked and i've hunted for Mark, both from 'lancs' and the 'head' I gave up looking for Fenton and turned to Margaret instead Can find you all manner of 'Margarets' a John, and a Thomas (and Fred) And come to the obvious conclusion he must have been upstairs in bed. maybe she forgot she was married or thought he was living else where Maybe he was 'trawling' on a boat out of Mooring or even quite possibly dead. Dea I can see all too clearly why you're down in the dumps looking for these folk's worse than having the mumps I've tried Fenton & Benton & Lenton & Kenton and co I'm feeling weary and a failure and hopeless and so I will hope that the great detectives here on GR can come up with the goodies and see where they are! nell

Jess, Oh Jess, - I really don't know just what he was up to that night He might have been out on his boat, as you said, or sewing 'wild oats' out of sight. One thing I know, from what I have found - In 1881 he was surely around A new wife he had - he was titled as 'head' So he certainly wasn't yet dead. Dea x
