In reply to Lou in Wigan there is also a Staffordshire BMD. Go into www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk. Click on Births and then click UK BMD. Next click Local BMD and this takes you to BMD sites for Bath, Cheshire, Lancashire, North Wales, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Wiltshire and Yorkshire If you click Statistics you will see that current totals for each category for all above sites are, Births 8,446,441 Marriages 4,859,162 Deaths 2,808,119. By checking the statistics page you can instantly see when updates are made. Access to all the above is super fast, and FREE. Ray Whincup

I am not sure of my topography but will Dudley cover Aston or Lozells. ?

Historyman

Historyman Report 22 Feb 2006 21:14

Ollybean Ollybean asks does Dudley cover Aston or Lozells.? As I come from Leeds in Yorkshire I have no idea at all. But, in my one name study, if I want to concentrate on a particular District, possibly to trace children from a particular marriage, I use this method. Go into free BMD, select search, then highlight District Aston. Search name, and from result screen click on Aston, which leads you to a screen that explains all about that District. Hope this helps. Both Aston and Lozells are part of Birmingham not Dudley
