when she married Frank how old was she -do you have a copy of the marriage certificate. Who is her father as he should be on the 1901 census with her. Irene

Are you trying to trace her forwards, rather than back then?? Trouble is, if at any time she changed her name without marrying, emigrated, or whatever, she becomes almost impossible to find :o(( Merry

Frank Gimber was the father.....Maud,s father was called Matthew james Hammond , cant find them on the census. Tracing forward or backwards any info gratfully recieved. they also had another daughter Edith ( my mother) born 28 February 1915 at 8 Canonbury Cottages

I looked at the areas where her father Matthew may have married and found one in Stockport and one in Blackburn where he may have married before Maud's birth in around 1893. Irene

Deal 1901 Census is lost, so you won't find anyone from there on Ancestry. Is that St Nicholas Church, Sholden they were married? It's just outside Deal on the Sandwich Road. There are absolutely loads of Hammonds in the Deal / Eastry area and have been for centuries, but Gimber doesn't strike me as being a local name - perhaps that's the Scottish link? Have you tried ringing Deal Library, they have a load of indexes there, so could possibly do a fairly quick search for you. Kris

Thank you to everyone who has helped. I have traced the Gimber side of the family back to 1860,s they all lived in and around West street. but canot find Maud who married Frank in 1914... Frank died in 1918 Maud would have been about 25 so she might have remarried. If she had any other children I would have loads of other relations I dont know about.........
