Fantastic help from all of you. I think Elaine is right about the family in 1841 This tallies with the info I have. I also suspect that Thomas senior may have a brother Richard who is also a shoemaker in the same area and a couple of years older i think. Re George It looks as though his wife may have died early perhaps in childbirth Sarah Ann seems to have survived as there is a record of her getting married in Cheltenham in the 1880's to Alfred Weir or Enoch Walters However strangely there is a record of A srah Annie Staokes aged 27 dieding in Cheltennham 1887 aged 27 which may be a coinidence as this would be her maiden name.

Wade Alice is alive in 1871 visiting her parents I have posted all the info above. Georgina.

Georgina Thant looks like a fantastic piece of detective work to find Alice If shereturned to that district of Evesham in 1871 and named her forst child Sarah it does look that you are right about her maiden name
