In 1871 - It was Pendleton, District 8 if that helps. II think it had John St., Heath St., Pimlott St + Goddard St. etc. Dea x A later wedding cert had a marriage in the same area at Parish Church in the Parish of Paddington ?? Dea x

Thank you June - I have the 1861 results but thank you for your efforts, and Thank you Yvonne - I didn't mean to cause you so much trouble. - I remember you found something else for me on the 1841 recently. I hate to keep asking others - How do you access the 1841? - If I knew how to do it I could look up for myself. Any info appreciated. but don't do it tonight - I have a feeling I have asked too much already. Thanks all, Dea x

Hi Dea, There are only 2 ways to view the 1841 census at any local history shop or to purchase the discs. But the 1841 is going to be added to Ancestry in the next couple of weeks - so it looks like a short wait. Lou

Thanks Lou, I have this ENORMOUS URGE to buy discs, if only I knew where to get them from. PLEASE don't anyone tell me - I know it makes sense to wait for Ancestry - I just find it SSsoooooo difficult. Dea x

Hi Dea, Do not buy the disk! If you do and the family arn't in the area you expect to find them it will take for ever. As the disc do not have a seach by name like Ancestry. You have to go to the Area say Manchester and then work your way through all the districts page by page. This would only 10 mins with Ancestry. Lou

Thanks Lou, I just like to be able to find everything for myself and not bother others, but I have no patience !! BUT I promise to control the urge this time and wait for Ancestry. Dea x

Hi Dea, If you really like looking for yourself give the local history shop a ring and book a computer you can view the disk in there. The 1841 disk cover very large areas, a quick phone call will confirm they have the area your looking for available there. And you will be able to get a print off for about 15p. Lou - who has spent many a hour in the history shops.

No Lou, - I have decided to be strong and restrain my self until Ancestry comes. I have a HUGE pile of printouts I need to sort anyway - I could do with solving all my existing mysteries before I find anyone else. !!! Just for reference though - what is the 'local history shop' ??? Dea x
