Moxley is in the West Midlands, near Wolverhampton and north east of Dudley. St Helens (unless there's another one I don't know about) is in Lancashire, several counties away. You can look at them on www.streetmap*co.uk and see for yourself. Have you tried finding the Loves earlier in the censuses? nell

Is this the family you found: St Helen Worcestershire [right county!] Elizabeth Love abt 1850 Worcestershire, Lodger Samuel Love abt 1861 Worcestershire, Nephew Not sure how this can be Elizabeth as she is married before the census was taken and would therefore be with her husband Thomas Stroyd? Are you wanting to find Thomas and Elizabeth, newlyweds in 1871 or wanting to find Elizabeth Love in unmarried bliss on earlier censuses? nell

Babs Right, this is the ref for the cert you have: Elizabeth Love 1871 Jan-Feb-Mar West Bromwich Volume: 6b Page: 740 Others on page: Mary Ann Berry William Derry Thomas Stroyd ) I think this is the same chap, but indexer Thomas Stroyde) is confused about which spelling is right the reg district is West Bromwich Created 1st July 1837. Mainly in Staffordshire, but included parts of Shropshire and Worcestershire. Sub-districts : Handsworth; Oldbury; Wednesbury; West Bromwich North-East; West Bromwich South-West. GRO volumes : XVII (1837-51); 6b (1852-1930). Oldbury (from 1844), Warley (from 1844), Warley Woods (1844-1928). Registers now divided between Sandwell and Birmingham districts. and this is another elizabeth love marrying in worcs, same year: Elizabeth Love 1871 Oct-Nov-Dec Worcester Volume: 6c Page: 555 Others on page: Herbert Crisp Susan Turner George Yeates Reg district is Worcester Created 1st July 1837. Sub-districts : Worcester; Worcester North; Worcester South; Worcester West. GRO volumes : XVIII (1837-51); 6c (1852-1930). Bedwardine, South Claines (from 1885), South Hallow (from 1885), Whistones, Worcester. Registers now in Worcester district. Not sure whether this 2nd Elizabeth is the one in the St Helens area in the census (taken 2 April 1871) or not, but if your marriage cert is right, she can't be the census woman. Take a deep breath. Go back and check how you got back to her from 2006. nell

Sorry Ozbird. had company just gone;; No I said I thought I had misread about mother, on the census, But I have Elizabeth on 1871 now, with Thomas in Bilson Staffordshire;; RG10/2950 No what I am trying to do is find her a family, her father is down as Samual on w/c deceased;; Would also like to get her b/c but finding it difficult to trace. This poor woman died at the age 32 after having 11 children, must be some past on the poor dear, I feel she has been neglected and a duty to give her a proper place in my cert book;; Babs
