My mother and her brothers were born in the 1920's with no father on their birth certificates. My grandmothers name was louisa Ewin b1883 in Kensington. When the children were young they were all fostered and Louisa never heard of again, I have looked in vain for her death but can't find it. I did ask relatives years agoabout it and the subject was changed. I would love to know what happened or when she died, can anyone come up with suggestions bearing in mind I live in Switzerland now so will have to do research online. Many thanks Sue

Sue http://www.ancestry(.)co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd(.)aspx Remove the brackets. You can do this for free. Start after the last definate birth date you have for her children. Suzy

Just Google Freebmd as you probably haven't paid the sub for Ancestry

Hi Sue Have you seen all the birth certificates of your mam and her siblings and do you know all of their names,I ask because in the 1920 `s I came across 6 children who appear to have been born out of wedlock to a woman called Ewin all in the London area. If you need any of this information let me know. Eileen

Sue - if you are looking for her death or marriage you will need that ancestry database not the FreeBMD one, so yes, you should register with ancestry for it but you can register for free as far as I know. Kate.

Eileen Just saw your message. We have my mum Joan birth certificate. She had two brothers, Les and Eric that we know about. This sounds very interesting - can you provide some details. Thanks Sue
