If you are having difficulty locating birth cert, could you try looking at parish revords for a christening? |

Carrie. Thank you - the glanford brigg one looks promising as that seems to be the place of the other registrations (all his children). I will check that one out, might try a local search at the registry office in scunthorpe and see what they come up with. Thanks for taking the trouble to look - I couldn't find anything remotely similar. Chris |

Jim Not sure when his father got married as i dont know the name of his mother. There are too many Thomas Green's on the index for me check each one individually. Thought if I could get Charles' birth certificate I could work my way through the possibilites of marriage date for his father which would take me back to census dates. Thanks for taking the time to check this out for me. Chris |

not sure of the relationship of the informant - just says 'causing the body to be cremated' the date does tie in with his marriage cert though which was in 1936 and his age was given as 23yrs incidentially the marriage couldnt be found on the registers either even though i have the original i know he was a methodist (poss a lay preacher) would that make any difference |

It depends on how reliable yout source is. Who registered the death, might they have got the year wrong, in which case you would need to search a few years either side. The BETA images on ancestry are free at the moment. I've looked in the march and june qtr. 1912 but can;t see anything. |

I have my grandfathers death certificate and it states his date of birth as 17 Feb 1912, Brigg. I have searched both freebmd and beta but cant find an entry to confirm the date. His full name was Charles Thomas Green Could anyone do a quick check for me to see if i have missed it please. thanks. Chris |
