I have hit a large brick wall

I know I have asked this before, but I have hit a very large brick wall. Matilda Latham was born 23.02.1824 in birmingham, her parents were Joseph and mary (nee Baldwin) On the 10.06.1824 she was christened at St Phillips church birmingham, and 28 yrs later, 23.05.1852 she married Joseph Lacey at St Martins birmingham. My problem is, I cannot find her in the intervening years ie the 1841 & 1851 census. I believe her mother died shortly after her birth and her father had remarried by the 1841 census and had 'another' family, but there is no sign of the 17 yr old Matilda. Can anybody find her?

Do you have her marriage cert?? if so what address is given for her?? Did she have any siblings??? have you got her father in 1851??

Sorry for delay in replying. Have marriage cert, no second name address given is cecil st birmingham. As far as I know she was an only child. Her father had remarried by 1830. The name Lamb means nothing, but although her marriage cert, to joseph, states spinster could she have been married before.

Lynda Sorry I can't see her anywhere, i checked images for address's of Latham's living in Birmingham and did not come across Cecil Street....

I've looked through all the descriptions of enumeration districts for St Martin Birmingham but there is no Cecil Street. It must have been in another district.

I think St martins was the bridegrooms parish

There's an Emma Hatham c.1827 in Ball Street, Birmingham, St Philip district, a nursemaid. Maybe Matilda was nicknamed 'M' and her employers assumed she was an Emma? Clutching at straws maybe?

Lynda Cecil Street is in Aston, it is still there today. St Martins is in Birmingham city centre (Bull Ring) about 2 miles away from Cecil Street. Georgina.

Many thanks for all your replies, and sorry for my late reply-night feeds called. I have now found out that matilda & joseph married at st pauls church in the district of st martins, so I will try to find her there. fingers crossed
