Hi, I'm having a problem getting all the coulours to print, the black and the blue are fine but the red and yellow don't want to know??? DIL and I have tried everything we know including letting cartridges stand on damp cloth..........now contacted Lexmark for advice, but no reply as yet. Wondered if someone knew the magic words??? Assuming there is ink in the cartridges... Try running a Head Clean It may be a button on your printer, or it may be accessed via Printer Properties. Start > Control Panel > Printers - Right click on the printer and select Properties, go through the tabs to find one for tools or utilities. If this doesn't work, this is what I used to do with a termpermental Epson I had. Create a page of large bold Xs in word. Change the font colour for the one you are having problem with. Print the page 4 or 5 times. The quality gradulally improved. Re-use the paper at first! If it doesn't respond to head clean or pages of Xs, then you will probably need to get new cartridges. Some printer cartridges are VERY fussy about how they are stored. Don't just fling them in a drawer. Make sure they are the right way up for at least 24 hours before installing them. Lx |

The thing with color cartridges is that often a portion of the ink jet is used up and it's no longer able to mesh to print out all colors unless replaced. If you've never done so before, try visiting the Lexmark official website - address can be Googled. Once on the site look for SUPPORT, DOWNLOADS and/or DRIVERS. (You can also input the model number of your printer in the sites 'search' feature.) If there are new DRIVERS available for your printer, download and install them and then restart your PC....the problem with your PC could be just a simple upgrade that is needed. Judy |
