I am hoping one of you lovely people can help me with a census search? My Great Grandfather David Dean I have found along with his family in 1901 and 1891. I've come to a brick wall trying to find him on any previous cenus. ( I've been using Ancestory, LDS and free cen). Occupations have been Labourer and Stoker in Gas works. He was born about 1855 In Wolverhampton Staffs and his fathers name was George ( I found this out through parish records for Davids marriage to Caroline Fensom) Transcriptions of his surname have so far as well as Dean been Deane Deans Deaner. i've tried to think of every way I can search, but I'm still hitting a brick wall on this one. I found a David Dean in Staffs with a father George on the LDS site but searching it forward, it revealed to be the wrong one. Thank you! Sharon

Elaine, That is the family! although his son is Jubilee and not Jeikeler Dorothy Is my Grandmother. Paul the David you found is the one I found, but further research in the following census finds him still in Staffs with another family. Glitter Babe, That's the one! I'd like to find him on the 1881 or previous census but I can't?

That's the marriage! it was on Christmas Day Bless them! I managed to get back to 1818 on the Fensoms, my line there didn't seem to move from the same address, until David married Caroline at the mo David Dean before his marriage to Caroline doesn't seem to exist :( I emailed Sarah a few weeks ago but I haven't had a reply as yet :( although Scotts Git and I are in touch sorting out the Fensom line.

Hi Sharon Have you seen the Birth Index entry for David ? Just had a quick look and there is a David Dean born Oct QTR 1855, I can quite make the Region out though it looks like Barton. The reference is 8c 399, if I remember correctly 8c is Lancs and Cheshire ? Cheers...Paul
