Hello, Have the 1861 census look up of John Thirlaway and family. But after that I can't find them at all on the 1871. I've each looking for each member seperately, but haven't found a single one of them. Where could they be? Any ideas? Kirsten

Hi Kirsten, I had an entire family disappear as well after the 1861 census and much later found out through a hot matches connection that they had emmigrated to Australia. Maybe you'll have the same luck!

Hi Kitsten, My family disappeared on the 1891 and 1901 census, Have even got the baptism place and dates for the three children 1887, 1889 and 1891. Still can't find them. It's just a gap in their lives as I have all the certificates of their births, marriages and deaths I'll find them one day (I hope) Good Luck. Linda

Well done Pen ! I did try but lost the plot on freebmd because there were so many variations in the spelling for soundex and I ran out of scraps of paper for my notes !!!!! I think there are plenty of certificates to send for now and somebody is going to be very busy INPUTTING onto the tree. Joan

I lost an entire family on the 1871 census. It turned out to be a mistranscription and their surname was recorded wrong. When I went through to the actual census record they were there after all. Good Luck Kathryn

Well done everyone. Recently a lost family on here were Ayres who were actually Hares.
