Yes - I guess there is some logic in the lookup that treats Mc as Mac. Bit of a nuisance but at least the answer you need is there. Happy hunting. Jim

I can't believe you found it. Thank you so much. I think what happened was Ancestry wasn't bringing up the right page - it was showing those up to 'mac' so I had to scroll through the pages to get to 'mcc'. I never would have thought to do that if someone else hadn't actually seen it though. Thank you very much to everyone. You're such a generous bunch.

Beta image for Apr-Jun 1910 shows James McCabe married in Leigh 8c 405 - which matches with FreeBMD page. Jim

Ooh thank you very much. I'm looking for the marriage of Annie Baxendale to James McCabe. She was born in 1887 so I would say 1903 would be the very earliest. She had a child in 1919 so I would expect them to be married before that. I think they probably had other children before that as well but I'm just going on the one I know for definite. I did find Annie Baxendale getting married in Leigh in Apr-Jun 1910 but not matching record for James McCabe.

I'm sorry. I appreciate you trying to help but I just can't get it. It just keeps bringing up links to other websites. Not to worry. Thanks anyway.

Hi Sharon The first thing that comes up on freebmd is the Ancestry link. If you wait for the page to load and then scroll down, you'll find the search box. NB not everything is transcribed and it only goes up to about 1911.

Hi Pheonix. Thanks for stepping in. Is that freebmd com? It just links me to ancestry which is what I'm using anyway and that doesn't seem to give me a page number, just a link to view the image.

Phoenix Report 9 Apr 2006 18:10

Hi Sharon If you are in freebmd, click on the page number link, and that will show the other names (if transcribed) on the page.

I've done this before and I can't blummin remember how I did it now. If you find a marriage record for 1 person, how do you see the other people who married that day who are their potential partners.
