I used Jim's info to look at the 1891 census page. It is in the town/village of Westminster and both Parliamentary division and ecclesiastical district of Strand, so I guess its St Anne's Soho area, and Strand reg. district. nell

There are many London parishes called St Ann(e)s. have you tried finding this family in 1891 in the hope that there's more of a clue? nell

On the 1901 census I have found Deborah Symonds Aged 23 living at St Augustines Rd, Camden Town. Her birthplace says 'St Anns London' - where in London would this be? Her parents are Simon & Rosalie Symonds, both born Poland Russian subjects. I think the surname has been changed at some point because I can find no birth registration for Deborah 23, or Samuel 21, or Fanny 20, or Mark 17, or Rachel 15 (all children born St Ann(e)s) with surname SYMONDS.. If I can find out the registration district that covers St Ann(e)s, I might be able to find them with a similar sounding (Polish?) surname. Many thanks Jo
