Hey all, Thanks for the sites.... anyone know anyone who's got access to any of these databases? The site you gave me is members not member (just to clear that up :-) ). I know the USA joined WWII in 1941 but what about WWI? Was it 1916? Steve |

Steve, I have access to Ancestry. The other site I gave you does not require subscription. He may be found on the WW1 Draft registration Index which began in 1917 when the US entered the War. He would have to register unless he was already enlisted or under the age of 17. If you give me the name and year of birth of the person you are looking for, I'll check the Indexes. Rose |

Found Harold's WW1 draft registration. Probably too old for WW2 enlistment which began in 1938. Arthur was too young for the WW1 draft. Not on the WW11 but the list is not complete. There are 2 other Carah's on the WW2 enlistment Index John M b 1922 and William M b 1916 both in California. Are they related? There is a Prisioner of War record for John M and a US Veteran Cemetery record for William M. I can send you the image of the Fraft Registration Card for Harold. Just need your email address. Rose |

I wasn't able to find Harold on the 1910 but I did find Florence King living with her father Joseph and sister Emma in Los Angeles. I'll save it for you. Rose |
