When you say you have gone through the marriages - you mean with a name search? That is the freebmd section and is not complete as it is an ongoing volunteer project. To find the marriage you would need to go to ancestry and then down past the search box and click on the beta bmd index. You will have to trawl through the images of the records quarter by quarter so try to cut down the possible years first by deduction.

Sam, you must have some idea of a marriage date. When was their eldest child born? If you know that you can hopefully work backwards. If you think the date falls into the 1866-1920 period you can go to the familyrelatives.org site and pay to view the period by a name search rather than trawling.

Sam, there should be an offer on still. If you go to familyrelatives.org register and click on purchase units - a new page will come up and in the promotion code box (the top one) put LC2005 click again and hopefully another page will come up showing you a 10 unit box. 10 units (free) would be enough to see the marriage if you do it carefully. Click on the 1866-1920 period box, enter the marriage, the most unusual name out of your great grandparents (or the one you know) and enter an area (use the map if its a vague area) and a time span. I do hope it comes up for you.
