Could this be your Thomas and Alice in 1841: Davenham, Cheshire HO107/121/16 folio 12 page 18 Township Wharton (part of) Address Little don fields Thomas Holland 25 Farmer Y Alice Holland 30 Y I've just looked at the 1851 census image and the age of William looks like 8 not 18 to me. (If this is so he couldn't have married in 1853 though.)

Kelly Hi, Can't be certain as William married in 1853?? That would make him quite young even given the rounding up of ages on 1841? Will make a note of it anyway Kelly and chack it out further, thankyou for taking the trouble I appreciate it. Also, if that was them, where had the other children gone in 1851? Jen

Hi Jen, have you tried the Cheshire BMD site? This may help although data is from 1837 onwards, but there may be something on here to help you. http://www(.)cheshirebmd(.)org.uk/cheshirebmd/index.html Regards Lindsey

So, do you have the mum's maiden name from the birth cert of one of the later children and then a marriage before 1833 for the parents? Maybe any inbetween children died? Do you want them looked for in 1841? (As I can't find mine, I might as well look for someone elses!) Merry

Have you found the family on the 1851 census? Have you considered the possibility of there being more than one marriage? Merry

My g g grandfather was born in 1833, his siblings are born 1846, 1847, 1849 & 1850. A thirteen year gap between the firast two seems awfully huge for those days...........so obviously more sibs somewhere! Nothing is turning up on IGI........so, where would be the best place to look please? They were all born around the Cheshire area. All advice appreciated. Jen
