Chris in Sussex thankyou I have now tried all your suggestions no joy. Christine who should be studying, I would have expected them to be in Luton as per 71 and 91 but cannot find them there. I may have to do as you suggest but it won't be tonight getting RSI and eyestrain so may give up for tonight. Thankyou for your suggestion.

I suppose you could look at all the images for Watlington - there are 4 districts. Assuming, of course, they are in Watlington!!

how about, CLISTON CLINTON CLIPTON I would guess the F would be the most commonly mis transcribed letter. In old writing it looked like an S. Sylvia.

Have you got them in any later census? If so, where were they?

I have spent the last hour and half searching. I have used christian name only, for all the family I would expect to find. I have tried street names only in the area I would expect to find them. I have tried Wales. The only thing I haven't done is search through the list on the christian name john with date of birth that gave me 2,000 names. What if anything could CLIFTON be mistranscribed as. I have tried ranked search. I have tried wildcard search with a D and an O. Any other ideas Please??? Looking for Charles Clifton c 1834 b Middlesex or Pinner or Bicester Jane Clifton wife c 1836 b Wales New Radnor Annie daughter c1877 b oxfordshire John son c 1878 b Sudbury I give up!!!!!!!!!
