Unfortunately I missed it, can anyone tell me where I need to look to watch last nights episode please, I have just tried the posting shown above but not getting any sound! should I be? It does not make it clear which area was covered last night either. I am really interested in the gypsy segment as apparently they have our surname. Any help gratefully appreciated. |

Hi Helen, I missed the very start of that bit about farming in Cirencester area, My Gr Grandparents and Grandfather farmed near by at a tiny Hamlet called Wiggold, 1901, bit before the time in the programme. I think the series should of been longer too. Ellen |

I enjoyed the bit about farming in Cirencester. It's near where my grandfather's family lived so good to hear the accent! nell |

Alter Yes, I believe their name was Cross. I wanted to find them too, do you think they are still alive? They'd be about 85-90 wouldn't they? Heather |

Hello, yes, the sad story of poor Grace' s family really haunts me too - made me cry and you could tell Dan was moved. To think that she had kept that letter for so long. Having loved this programme and developed a strong hankering for the old days and its simpler way of life, this was perhaps the one area where nowadays there is a vast improvement! Loved the idea about the washing on the hedge, might try that myself! And as for all those wonderful pictures of the curly haired tots and scruffy urchins, so sweet! I cannot wait for next week's episode x , |

Hello Ellen I just watched this programme too and it was fantastic. Can't wait until next week. Shame about that family who got split up and the way Grace coped with it all - it was another world wasn't it? Snowdrops |

I have found this a very interesting programme, good for our hobby. Claude Friese-Greene travelled from Lands End to John O Groats during the 1920s filming along the way. Too Good to miss Ellen |
