Have found 4 marriages, on free bmd, that could be for the Frank Harris I am looking for, they are March 1891 March 1892 Dec 1896 & Sept 1897. Do I have to buy all the certs for those marriages, or his there another way off finding out?

Have you found your Frank Harris on the 1901 census to see what his wife is called? Kath. x

No, can't find him on the 1901 census

Do you know your Frank's father's name and occupation? If you do then you could order the marriage certificates one at a time and give the father's details as a checking point. That way they won't send you the certificate if the details don't match and at least you only waste £3 instead of £7. Kath. x

Sorry Lynda same as you, I cant see them on the 1901 census, even checked wales! Theres a death for a Phoebe Harris in March 1/4 1901 that fits but theres also a Phoebe Harris age 76 living in Birmingham born Staffs so the death might be hers! suzanne

If you want to go down the marriage theory then you could check to see what other Frank Harris's are married by 1901 and check off the wifes against the possible wifes on the marriage index? It takes some doing but it might elliminate some. Suzanne For example this is the one that Jean has found: Marriages Mar 1891 Attrill Celia Birmingham 6d 262 HARRIS Frank Birmingham 6d 262
