I don't think that being the Parish Clerk was a paid job. He may have been retired from his previous job (or out of work) and acting as Parish Clerk voluntarily. |

Hi Kaz Sadly there was no AAD recorded so it more convienent that a dead cert (no pun intended). But for me it was the info about Matthew that swung it. The name is VERY close, so is the area, dob and job. But as you say you will need to get the certs to be certain. HTH ... Paul |

Hi Paul, I`ll have to have a look, in 1881 matthew has an elizabeth prosser i think her name is lodging with him and its only those two in the household. im tracing the merediths for my mother in law they are her dads maternal side and no one in the family know anythng about them so ive had to get his birth cert to find out who his parents were, been easy until now lol |

Hi Kaz Did you say he was a widower in 1881 ? May be he was a Widower for the second time ?? There is a death record for an Ann Meredith 1864; Ann Meredith 1864 Jan-Feb-Mar Hereford Herefordshire, And a marriage for a Matthew a year later 1865; Matthew Meredith 1865 Jan-Feb-Mar Hereford Herefordshire, Monmouthshire Sarah Nation 1865 Jan-Feb-Mar Hereford Herefordshire, Monmouthshire By the look of the image the Matthew I found was 12 years younger than his wife (Sarah). Just a thought... Paul |
