Hello All, We have a family story saying that my gg grandfather, William Hunt, was the head gardener at Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, OXON. Can anyone suggest how I could check this out? Thanks in advance, Gillian |

Hi Merry, William Hunt was born 1822 Handborough so would probably started work age 14 (1836) & became head gardener sometime after then? gillian |

Have you found him yet on any census? if he was a gardener he probably lived on the estate and would be shown as such. Kat |

Hi Kat, William lived in the village of Bladon & is buried in the church there. The census doesn't mention Blenheim Palace. Gillian |

Why not write to the archivist at the Palace, they will be able to tell you from their records. Jennifer |

Hi Jennifer, Yes I will try. Have googled for an address but no luck. I think I'll try the library in Oxford. Thanks, Gillian |

Am I correct in thinking that Park Lane is one of the roads around Blenheim Palace? Have you contacted Beleheim Palace to find out if they have any records? |
