Hi Lindy I've had a look on Genuki and the nearest thing that came up was a Wicken Lane which is in Kent. There is also a Wicken in Northants, and one near Newmarket. Is that definitely the correct spelling? Mandy |

Hi Lindy, I just did a quick Google on Wicken Hole and something showed up about a Wicken Hall, which took it's name from the nearby Wicken Hole. Also, there's something showing up when you type in Wicken Hall for a Wicken Hall Fishery in Shaw, Greater Manchester. Best ofluck with your research. |

Is Rochdale not in the district of Greater Manchester; which would mean John's suggestion a good lead. Joan |

A great many major roads and motorways have been driven through that area since 1826. It might be worth trying to find a pre-motorway or older maps to search from. Sylvia. |

I'm not sure but I think I might have something from www.old-maps(.)co(.)uk Search for Rochdale then zoom in and find St Chads. There's a main road a bit to the left, just above the large letters R & L does it say Wicken? It's an 1851 map of Rochdale anyway so may help your search. |
