Hi Elenor Have you done 'Search family trees' on here. Three people have Henry Varney and two of them have Sarah Carter. One of their daughters married into the Bird family which is why the name was familiar to me. If you are not already in contact, I expect you could get further info and possibly get further back. Have been stuck on this for an age now.. Henry(1805) and Sarah(1817) Varney - Living in wormley, Hertfordshire... Trying to find out Sarah's unmarried name. Cenus 1881 says there was a Visiting brother in law called Matthew Carter (1815) I want to confirm that he is HER brother...i think...my brain is now jelly from information overload!! Anyone able to advise how I could do this?
