Looking for Violet E Birch born c1929 - I have her death record in Apr Q 1943 aged 14 in Pontypridd, but can't find the birth anywhere..... The mothers maiden name was OWEN can you help?

Hi Pink I've checked 1928/29/30 on 1837 and nothing. Do you have anything other than the death certificate to suggest that she was born c1929? I'm thinking along the lines of the death registration being mistranscribed, maybe she was 24 etc. I only looked for Violet E, but maybe the person registering her death didn't realise that, for instance, Violet might have been her second name. Or perhaps Birch was misspelt? Mandy

Do you have her mothers marriage cert, was she married before Violet's birth and do you know of any brothers & sisters Violet had? Georgina.

Violet was 1 of 12 children and i have found the other 11 without any problem. Parents were married in 1925 and proceeded to chuck out kids for the next 20 years. Mother defo not married before! xx

There is a birth in the June quarter 1930 of a Colin A Birch in Uxbridge MMN Owen is he one of your 12 children? Georgina.

Hi Georgina - no he isn't one of them I'm afraid! All the kids were born in PONTYPRIDD xx

Thanks Georgina!! An Evelyn was born in 1930 so I am suggesting that this is the real first name of Violet E Birch. Will let you know the outcome. xx

Pink, Having checked and their are no missing pages, i would suggest that you ring the local registry office with the info you have, as not all are listed on the GRO index, I have found 2 of my missing rellies this way, their is a Iris M born Pontypridd dec quarter 1930 11a 745 mmn Owen Roy

Gawd i am losing it.... Evelyn was born in 1940 hence my thought of being 4 at death not 14. Yes Iris is one of the siblings!! xx

I cant see they Evelyn born in 1930 but there is an Iris M Birch born in Pontypridd december quarter MMN Owen ref no:11a-745. What I find confusing is you said she had 12 children. She must have had most of them after 1930 because the only other Birch/Owen birth in Pontypridd is Alice M Birch in 1926. Georgina.

It appears that 2 of them weren't registered although deaths found and 1 with DOB. 2 were twins and yeah predominately after 1930 Not sure why they had such a gap but they did! xx
