I thought he was being too forthcoming on the census........lying about the marriage to cover up illegitimacy

I did try Annie Franklin on free bmd but there are to many and do not give fathers name.
I thought if I looked for her father , James Franklin in the 1911 census with daughter Annie aged appx 8yrs old I could narrow it down that way.

Just seen latest reply and census. Looks like that could be the one.
On Annies marriage to Denis Paybody in 1925 it states that her future husband was living in New Southgate, although Annies address is given as Frien Barnet at the time of the marriage.

So Annie was on the 1911 census as Franklin but birth reg as Turner making her illegitimate and why I couldnt find her birth as Annie Franklin.
Have I got that right? Sorry to be a bit dumb LOL
