Hi folks

James Hutton was the known father of several children in the Poplar area of the East End of London in the late 1850's and early 1860's. However his name does not appear on any of the birth certificates and it is only through later documentation that the proof lies.

He had a liason (for want of a better word) with a Mary Folkes who was probably born around 1822 and it is with her that the children were born.

James was a mariner of some sort but as to where he came from and when he was born I have no idea and have drawn a blank with my investigations.

Can any members out there help me to push back the boundaries by answering my two little questions ?

Where have you got the information from as I would like to download copies for my own files or perhaps you would like to send me a personal message and I can give you my email address to receive what you have found.

Is there definitive proof that Mary and James actually married at any point ? or did she just take the name of Hutton. Later marriage documents list her as still being a Harrison
