I've seen a few Kent records where the maternal grandfather's name is given - but it doesn't seem that common. |

The incumbent at Moreton in Essex around 1800 must have come from Yorkshire as he recorded all thos details. Some parts of the entries are a bit hard to read but fortunately he wrote the whole lot out for each child in the same family. |

Parish records for marriages dont show fathers names.ALTHOUGH some coming up to 1837 sometimes do its depends or how zealous the vicar was with his recording. I have two parish record marriages in the mid 1830,s just before 1837 where dads name is shown, maybe the vicar was aware he had to record it when the official registration started |

The GRO dont hold Christening records ,they are held by the Church and should be at the local Records office if the Church has passed on their parish records to them. |
