Can anyone enlighten me to the name of a ship or captain who failed to arrive because he sailed wrong way and was suposedly court martialed for it. ie never made it to trafalgar ? thanks Dave |

Admiral collinworth was in charge of royal soverien ,she was cashired prior to battle ,so he had to find a new crew when called upon . that was a bbc documentry a while back |

WELL , I was Searching For The Vessel MY GTGT GRANFATHER WAS ON IN 1805.One member of my family reckons he was on a ship that failed to get to the battle because it got lost!! I have tried googling and all sorts but cant find such a vessel !! so i put the question up for debate Dave |

Well, hopefully, if you look at the link I gave you it should have a record for him! If you're sure he got the medal, then presumably he was there! |

Just because he got the medal does not mean he was there!! as the medal was struck years later on order of queen victoria and was used as a genral service medal. Only officers got a medal for being at trafalgar after the battle. |

Well it looks as though the source was the ships muster so I assume he must have been listed on the muster for him to be included in the database |
