I want to scream !!

They have taken away my old search facility.

Does not matter what I do or logout and back in again the option to go back to the old search is not showing. Usually on the right hand side of screen.

Do not like the "new" search facility and want to change back

Never have any problem changing back until today. Wish the site would not change things around

But how?

I've had this happen before. I normally just try doing searches under different things (census, trees, BMD etc) and suddenly the option to change will pop back up.

Yes it usually does come back but not today

Have searched on census, London Marriages, London Baptisms etc etc and the option to go back to old search is still not showing.

Signed out and back in 3 times now and still not appearing.

No nothing showing at all.

Ancestry do switch me sometimes to the new search and have never had any trouble switching back until now.

Logged out and then googled Ancestry and gone in that way instead of through favourites and not made any difference.

Sometimes my Ancestry switches itself to Ancestry.com rather than Ancestry.co.uk and that has given me problems in the past......are you still connected to Ancestry.co.uk, Glitter Baby?

Yes still says .co.uk at the top. Only try .com when problems logging in to .co.uk

Oh well off to watch the Grand Prix qualifiying

Back on a lot later tonight so hopefully it will have changed back by then

Tell me about it!! I can't stand the new search either. :-(

I've had the same problems all day today......I have finally managed to get back to the old search, but it took hours!!

I have never noticed there was a choice in the top right hand corner.

I have been using new search it seems and I must be happy with it..not going to mess about incase it does'nt come back

From the main banner bar, pick Search - Search all records.
The old/new switch should now appear at far right, just under main banner bar.

Ancestry don't 'switch' you as such, your preferences are held in cookies on your PC. If for some reason they are deleted then you go back to the Ancestry Defaults.

To get back to where I want to be if this happens, I have a number of urls in my Bookmarks / Favourites as follows:-

I emailed ancestry when I got stuck in the new search.
They apologised and told me to do as mgnv has said.

my ancestery change to the new search but i could still click on old search that was still on the right hand side of my screen
