I've done this too Rose for one of my Ancestors. The farm had been in the family for generations. I google it and found planning permission had been applied for. It was very interesting |

I often forget to google names. places etc. When I do I'm always surprised at things I didn't realise were there. |

Hi Rose.nice to see you around....when I'm at a loose end i Google Earth streets/addresses i get from the 1911 census.....huge Victorian houses that housed the rich and pwerful in 1911..that are now squalid bedsits....great fun when you're bored...as well as a sign of how change takes place...........it helps of course if they were around in 1911 and are still standing now. |

I did that with my grandfather's address in 1911 Derek, the house was still there which was interesting to see...and the street where his wife lived was not far away! Complicated story yet to fully unravelled lol. |

Tetley, it is always worth Googling a place name in Images, i have found some great ones by doing that of Chiswick, photos of the river boats etc, and plates from old books. |
