OK i give up and ask for help {again} yesterday on this board there was people who was doing the "Official Genes Advisors"
with the little star against their name, now i can't see no stars and don't know how to get on that board. There's defo nothing i can click onto on the community thingy or any where around it, so what am i missing??

Sign out & Sign back in again, see if that helps, you should then see "Help Clinic" top left above boards summary.

When i went through the Genes link in my favourites, i got the "old" Genes, i had to www it , and save to my favourites again.

I did that Netty but it didn't work, there's nothing above boards summary.

You do not need 'official advisors' - the unofficial ones are just as good.

Just go to the Trying to find or records board and post your query

I like to read ALL the board's as i can learn so much from them, and lot's of sites are posted that i find very usfull.

I just wonder why you think those with a Star are likely to be any better than the rest of us. Okay if you get result from The Stars, but please come back to us if not.

Hi again all, Madmeg, i don't believe i said i thought the "starry" people boards were any better than the other boards , i just like to read them all, i find thing's out without having to ask. But while i'm on here, I'm Asking, please is there anyone who does Electoral Reg look up's for Lincolnshire, and if not do i go to the library at Lincoln, do they do it in years or is it done every 10 years, i want the 1950s, i can't post name's as i think they could be alive.

It was cos you said "great joy" - gave the impression (to me, maybe I'm a tad touchy about it) you thought "that other lot" were better.

I lose track of who does ER look-ups, and that far back. They were taken every year. Hope somebody will tell you soon.

Madmeg, the" great joy" was 'cause something worked on my comp!!! i'm not all that good at it, infact rubbish if truth be known.
Anyhow thanks, and i hope someone knows about ER look ups.

Electoral registers can only be searched by address.
They are held by the local library but the British Library has a full collection although for earlier ones you need to order them a few days before you visit.

There are a couple of people on the boards who do offer ER lookups, but I don't know if any of them have the records to go back to the 1950s


gawd ...... that makes me feel old!! I was at high school in the '50s!!

The electoral registers are most likely held at the central library.

You best choice, if you cant get their yourself is to email them through this link:

http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/residents/libraries/what-we-offer/lincoln-central-library?tab=contacts

and make an enquiry, some libraries may do a lookup for you for free and others charge a small fee just to cover their adminstration.
