I spoke to them on the phone before ordering my Dads WW2 army records and was told that there was likely to be a 6-8 month wait because they were swamped with work associated with the present conflicts. It seems they do more than just look after records associated with historical matters. |

Mother in law and I applied for my father in laws records back in june and we have heard nothing since. We also applied for his ww11 medals and they were with us within a few days. |

I applied in August and got a letter saying there could be up to a six month delay as they were very busy. They did offer to refund the £30 if I didn't want to wait that long. I have left it with them, but haven't had anything back yet. |

I don't think Royal Navy records for that period are available - I seem to remember seeing somewhere that each man's record was given to him when he left the Navy. Try the National Archives site - it tells which and where Navy records are available. |

It took 8mts for the one i sent off for, I have heard it can be between 3mts to 12mts to get them. |
