Were the parents married? Just a thought because if not and the father was in the army the mother may have held off registration until he was there so his name went on the cert? |

i think claire is asking if the child was also registered in 1942 under the mothers maiden name possibly not married and married later. |

its not really odd its probably just a case of people trying to legitimise their family. my mother in law has 2 registrations one before marriage of her parents and one after? but there could be another registration out there from 1942? do you have a name for look ups in 1942? |

The war definately finished in 1945, either that or I have to go back and correct my GCSE, and A-level teachers and a few History Lecturers. |
