date of birth on death indexes are from 1969 |

Date of births won't show on the death index - I know because my Nan died in 1962. I think they show from the late 60s but have forgotten when. |

Provided you have the rest of the info required, you can pick up her DOB from her death which should be shown on Ancestry |

hi claire thank you for your reply i can not ask any family about this as they are all deceased thats the ones that would have known my sister informed me of the birth she only knew that the child was born and her name but no dates. the date was found by a kind person on this board painterman |

There's a fifty year rule which applies to births. If you're trying to order a birth cert that falls within the past 50 years, you'll have to provide required fields*. It's a part of the privacy acts. |
