hi im looking for my great grandmother issabella mcdonald,who after giving birth to my grandfather in 1915 disappeared of the face of the earth,ive had searches done by the liverpool records office and nothing can be found,i know she didnt die young as my grandfather used to talk about her to my mum when she was young. |

Have you found her on the 1901 census? With a name like that there's a fair chance she hailed from Scotland and may have returned to Scotland later possibly getting married there. |

Was your grandfather adopted through a children's home/mother and baby home? If it was a private arrangement there's a chance that the people who adopted him were known to her, perhaps family members/neighbours. |

Then all I can suggest is that there are another 13 marriages on freebmd up until 1925 and I would start with the nearest ones to liverpool and send off for 1 at a time with her fathers name down on it so that you get a partial refund if its not her. |
