I assume you mean Leek in Staffs, you could right to the county medical office, I am sure there must be an address online some where, get her death cert that would give you cause of death and maybe more info. |

If you search the National Archives hospitals database (put Leek as the town) it'll give you the names of hospitals there and the place where records are kept: |

Do you have a name for the 'hospital'?. One of the main ones in the area was Cheddleton Asylum which served several towns including Leek and was extended in the early 20th century |

The County Records Office should be able to tell you which Health Authority have the records for the Asylum (if they still exist). |

I had a relative in Cheddleton hospital in the 1920's/30's, and got his records, no problem. Don't remember now where from, but I would say Staffs Archives would be your first port of call. |

I got my great grandads records (he died in Cheddleton hospital in 1935) from Staffordshire Records Office a few months ago. |

I cannot believe how many of you have taken the time and trouble to answer my query, I am a bit of a dud on the computer, so have printed all replies,(in case I lose them) and will make a start again tomorrow gone 11pm now, and I need supper and beauty sleep Thank you all SO VERY MUCH |
