You won't find many Irish records on any site unfortunately so unless the majority of his ancestors were from England, you may be wasting money. |

You could take out a 14 day free trial on Ancestry and see how you get along with it. |

I've also seen that lots of people seem to be having problems with Ancestry. I use it at work (naughty!) and at home and can honestly say that I haven't experienced any problems. |

I've used Ancestry for a number of years.......had a couple of 'blips' when they were upgrading the site, but no more than a couple of days at the most. |

Have just been doing a trawl through the full BMD images on Ancestry to find a relative of my wife.. No problems, apart from the fact that there were a lot of images missing. |

Major Bloodnock, the images will be there, just not indexed correcty, when there is an addition on the bottom of the page, Ancestry index on that so a lot of names could be missing. |

Thats very true Barry, sometimes the transcriptions and indexing are appalling, should be better. |

Dear Annie it probably depends on how much money you have to spend. |

I found lots of info on genes about my family and a lot of people did help as they were a lot further along than me. So my scottish side is more or less sorted( apart from my mothers father side. McPherson in Scotland Pleeeease, with only a name to go on) I have even less to go on with my oh's side. |
