THROWN AGAINST A LEVER.
NEW HOLLAND ENGINE DRIVER'S DEATH. The accident sustained by John Franklin, engine driver, on the Great Central, last Tuesday, at Cleethorpes, terminated fatally yesterday. Franklin had completed a journey to Cleethorpes, and was taking his engine to the turnstile when a carriage which got loose ran violently into the engine, throwing deceased with great violence, against the sand lever. Franklin however, drove his engine back to New Holland, thence to Barton, and again to New Holland. A medical examination next morning discovered three broken ribs and punctured lungs.
Deceased was the eldest driver at New Holland, he had been in the Company's service over forty years.

Yes that is the death of Sarah. I am wondering if they didnot get married.
Even if they had married at the local methodist church, it should show on either FreeBMD or GRO registration records

Can you give us as much info. as you have please. Where did the marriage take place, dates, and who is Sarah.

Can anyone find a marriage registration for Robert Frankish Franklin and Hannah Maria Tomlinson. They had five children. Sarah died in the latter end of 1902 and I assume about the time of the birth of their fifth child.
