The Electoral Roll wouldn't necessarily tell you the owners of the property, anyway - just who lived there - and as it was a shop, nobody did, as you've found.
For ownership, try a Land Registry search - various kinds of searches available, including historic, at a cost, from here:

Thanks to everyone for all their input and advice Nobody registered at 2/4 Union Street between 1949-1952. It looks as though the owners of this property were likely the trustees of a James C Macmurchy, and I am trying to locate them (if still in being) Other than this I guess the local paper might assist. And have you followed up any of the suggestions I made in our PM conversation (copied below) on 3rd May, following my reply on another of your threads? http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/genealogy_chat/thread/1359727
From: Ian James Fowler 3 May 2016
Thank you ArgyllGran, I will make contact as you suggested. I don't suppose you would have any knowledge of Campbeltown? I am trying to pin down the principals of a firm of bakers of 2/ 4 Union Street, with the name of J & N Mccallum. Best wishes, Ian
From: ArgyllGran 3 May 2016
Hello, Ian - I don't know Campbeltown well, I'm afraid, as I live at the opposite end of the large county. However, I'm not aware of a bakers of that name there nowadays.
These links may be relevant? http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1334893

Of course we all read the same boards so yet another post, on Living Relatives, is the last thing we need now. :-)
just not helpful to post multiple threads about multiple aspects of the same search
would the person referred to in the other thread
'Someone else on here is looking for the same man http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1334759 ...................he hasn't returned since he posted his request for help'
who then deleted that thread have been Ian? ah yes reading further in that thread ... and noting the research I did myself there ... it was Ian and there had been a mix-up between them. And apparently Ian had posted info about JCC's marriage.
as I said in 2013: the only way to find out who registered the death in 1993 is to get the death certificate!
Name: John Calderwood McCallum Birth Date: 27 Sep 1903 Date of Registration: Oct 1993 Age at Death: 90 Registration district: Surrey South-eastern Inferred County: Surrey Register Number: 6C District and Subdistrict: 7602B Entry Number: 178
any chance it was obtained?
scotlandspeople also shows a marriage in 1932. ?
and oh look, there was a thread on Living Relatives ... last month
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/living_relatives/thread/1359119
now deleted by Ian
Ian please stop posting and deleting, it doesn't help you or anyone else.
... so I spent a credit to find something Ian and Elizabeth may already know ...
1932 MCCALLUM JOHN CALDERWOOD MCINTYRE LILLIAS CORBETT CAMPBELTOWN /ARGYLL 507/00 0043
ah yes
http://www.curiousfox.com/vill100/Argyllshire17693_1.html
McCallum and McIntyre John Calderwood McCallum was married in 1932 in Campbeltown to Lilias Corbett Kerr McIntyre. Would anyone have information relating to anychildren of marriage or any family members. Thanks.
there went my credit

'There is a link in this search to my enquiry re Lilias McCintyre inasmuch as Henry was the brother to John Calderwood McCallum'
no actual link given, but

Ian James, Have you posted this on Find Living Relatives ? You may have better luck there
Background..... Requests for info relating to this James McCallum has been posted on various forums since 2013 and relates to child born out of wedlock ( adopted) in 1949 who is looking for the birth father/family. (Requests come from the same person who posted on the thread from 2013. Already linked above by Chris)
All she knows that he was called James McCallum and that he was a Baker from Campbeltown. Details on the birth mother, including her age in 1949 are already known. It's believed that James was already married with children and a bit older than the mother. His age/year of birth is based on researched guesswork.
The original poster is hoping to locate biological, half siblings

You could try to find the Post Office directories for the area. That may help you identify the owners.

Elizabeth Report 8 Dec 2013 13:26
John McCallum was a baker from Campbeltown, Argyll in the 1940's. The youngest of 5 children I believe. He was born in 1901, and appears on the Scotland 1901 census. I am not 100% this is the information for the person i am seeking though. There seems to be a bit of confusion in the birth dates. I got this information from the local library, he was definitely a baker in Campbeltown I know that for sure. Is there anyone else searching this person. Thank you.
