Question.... Can i search here for ancestors in other Countries. If not, do i then have to go sideways to Ancestry.com

You can search other members trees for ancestors in other countries but as far as I know there are very few, if any, records on here for outside the UK ( passenger lists ?)

Try https://familysearch.org/ which is free, but before getting a subscription on Ancestry or elsewhere check whether they hold the records you need and which subscriptions covers them ( eg Worldwide)

If you want to say which countries you are looking at, someone may be able to give specific advice?

Check out the free site https://familysearch.org/search/
You can limit your search to some general areas, e.g.,
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_STATES
and
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

Ray, if you have particular questions or people you want to research, others here with subscriptions to sites that might have the records will try to help.

Just about any other site available for subscription will give you access to more records than this one, and most of us here subscribe to at least one useful site.

And while you're here, go into your account and fix yourself a user name so you aren't 'Unknown' when you post a message ... preferably something unique rather than just 'Ray', :-)
