Thanks for that. I don't think it can be the marriage to my Davey as he is definitely James Davey. I think some license may have been taken in assuming she was his bride as it is obvious that an Emma Scriggins was born in the right place at the right time but the m arriage couldn't have been hers as she was only 6. Perhaps someone in a previous generation also married a Davey. It does appear the correct name is Scriggins not Serigins. Thanks for your help. |

Am researching the above person who appears in many trees under both names. She live from about 1804-1891 and married in 1828 a James Davey but there appear to be no source citations to support this date or the date of her death although her birth in Torrington, Devon appears reasonably accurate from census records. I am trying to find records of her birth and death and hopefully the names of her parents and which is her correct maiden name. Thanks in advance for any help. |
