Familysearch have transcripts of lots of the Scottish OPRs. The original images are only available on Scotlandspeople. Scottish census record transcripts are available on a few sites but again the only place for the original images would be Scotlandspeople. Freecen has covered the 1841 census quite well. |

Looking on Ancestry, James seems to be the only child christened with parents James and Margaret Scott. It may be that Margaret died and James remarried. It could be costly but it may be worth looking on SP for a possible death for James (Sen). Scottish death certificates name all known spouses as well as parents if known. Sadly, though, registration didn't begin until 1855 in Scotland and James may have died before then. |
