Born c 1823 Carlton Snaith, Yorks Death reg gives 2 Mary Bedford consecutively Selby, Vol 23 P 399. Mother known to be buried 22 Feb 1843 St Lawrence, Carlton Snaith. ON SAME DAY a baby Mary Bedford was bapt in Birkin church, where Mary, mother, was married 2nd quarter 1842. Mary mother seems to have died in childbirth and the child Mary soon afterwards. I want to order death certs for both but how can I differentiate on ordering if they both have the same Ref Nos? |

If you order them via the GRO site you could write to them - with a cheque - and explain the position. I am sure they will be able to help. |

you say the baby mary died after the mother died, and baby mary was baptised the same day as the mother was buried, then i dont think that they would have the same reference numbers on death certificate, also if baby mary was dying she would not have been taken to the church but have been baptised at home or where she was born |

Re differentiating between the two deaths if ordering the certificates, one of the deaths was on Line 18 of page 399 of vol 23. |
